Cybersecurity Systems Engineer Job Purpose The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer supports our Security Operations Center by implementing and maintaining security infrastructure.
This role performs day-to-day support of the cybersecurity tool stacks, as well as executes managed security service onboarding processes.
A successful Cybersecurity Systems Engineer is often someone with experience in an ITSM engineering role.
Responsibilities: Act as Subject Matter Expert for our security tool stack and an escalation resource for related issues to include root cause analysis for systemic issues.
Participate in the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of security systems.
Ensure that security services are being delivered to clients according to agreement terms.
Act as Project Lead for many managed security service onboarding projects.
Provide demonstrations of the security solutions and services.
Communicate with all stakeholders as necessary.
Conduct research and develop for new and current security tools.
Create documentation for current solutions.
Education, Experience, and Certifications: Required One of the following, or similar, certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, SSCP 3 years’ work experience in the Information Security field OR 5+ years working in an ITSM support or project role.
1-2 years’ demonstrated experience with SIEM & EDR platforms, vulnerability management tools, and firewall management Hands-on skills in at least one of the following: Powershell, NodeJS, Python, JavaScript and RESTful design Familiarity with writing code to move data in and out of API-driven systems.
Experience with Linux, virtual, and container environments Preferred Associate’s degree in Information Security or related field or 4+ years’ work experience in the Information Security or related fields 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience with SIEM & EDR platforms, vulnerability management tools, and firewall management Hands-on skills in 2 or more of the following: Powershell, NodeJS, Python, JavaScript and RESTful design Experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and GCP Competencies and Qualities: Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
Work with a team, communicate effectively, and have high attention to detail.

Work Environment Depending on assigned and targeted geography, work may be performed from a home office that provides a suitable work environment appropriate for focused and intense work.
In some cases, work will be performed in a climate-controlled office space.
Travel This position requires less than 5% travel.
No overnight travel should be expected.
Physical Demand Candidate should be able to lift 25 pounds.
Job will require sitting for long periods of time and may occasionally require bending, lifting, and driving.
Position Type/Expected Hours This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week.
A one-hour lunch break is provided.
The typical shift starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
