Duties Executes range facility opening, closing, and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local, and federal laws.
Maintains communications and follows instructions of the installation range control agency to ensure safe operations.
Coordinates medical support through the installation range control agency.
Instructs patrons on range safety practices and provides general firearm and marksmanship information.
Responsible for all safety issues in the operation of the range.
Ensures proper handling storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition, and vault security.
Issues ammunition and range related accessories to customers, checks ID, and collects fees.
Checks inventory and supplies, and requests restock.
Pre-checks, prepares equipment for customers, explains use, monitors proper usage.
Conducts surveillance of total facility and reports any unusual findings to supervisor.
Cleans recreation equipment, supplies and facility area.
Directs patrons; schedules use of ranges; conducts briefings; and monitors patrons.
Coordinates league, competition, and group functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.
2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.

Must meet age restrictions for the handling of firearms.
This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) as required by Army Regulation 600-85.
A negative drug test is required prior to appointment for a TDP.
Incumbent will be subject to subsequent random drug test as required.
Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
Individual must be able to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance and heavier loads with assistance.
Position, duty hours, location and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements.
Qualifications 1.
Must have experience with firing range operations and firearm safety.
2.
Possess work experience which involved dealing with the general public.
3.
May have cashier skills.
4.
Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay.
When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).

Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Foreign Overseas Allowances and Differentials Overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
