*Position Summary* The Grants Administrator is responsible for securing grant funding for the needs and strategic priorities of the council in support of the organization’s mission.
Strategic direction and supervision will be provided by the Chief Advancement Officer.
The Grants Administrator will work with the membership, program, property and development teams to identify funding priorities, research available funding opportunities, and pursue those opportunities via grant proposals.
When a grant is funded, the Grants Administrator will be responsible for tracking grant activity, reporting progress to the donor and nurturing the donor relationship.
The Grants Administrator will serve as a representative of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, under the direction of the Chief Advancement Officer, to work with staff, volunteers, and donors.
*Accountabilities* · Conducts the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to United Way and to foundation and corporate sources.
· Performs prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
· Works closely with council leadership and staff to identify funding needs and priorities and to align grant requests with those priorities.
· Works with members of the staff and finance team to gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on current grant programs.
· Complies with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
· Works with Community Engagement Managers to nurture donor relationships.
· Makes appointments and arrangements for executive visits or site visits as necessary.
· Works with Community Engagement Managers to maintain updated records, to include grant tracking and reporting.
· Manages data related to each grant and provides written reports to council leadership as requested.
· Assists with other fundraising and marketing projects as requested.
· Supports the internal and external communications of the council, reflecting and protecting the Girl Scout brand.
· Participates in training and developmental opportunities related to the development function and participates in community events when appropriate.
· Models teamwork and support for the goals of the Development Team, the council and the Girl Scout Movement.
· Seeks and accepts opportunities for professional growth and development.
· Fulfills other duties as assigned by the CEO or CAO.
*Qualifications AND EDUCATION* · Bachelor’s degree preferred; related experience in fund development considered.
· Five years grant writing experience preferred.
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· Strong understanding of Girl Scout history, mission and program; Girl Scout experience preferred.
· Experience with online grants research and application processes.
· Strong human relations skills.
· Desire to improve and develop professionally.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends; occasional overnights may be required; ability to travel as job requires.
· Ability to provide positive customer service to girls and volunteers.
· Willingness to maintain active Girl Scout membership and demonstrate commitment to the mission of the Girl Scout movement and ability to communicate the mission to others.
· Willingness to personally support the council’s annual giving campaign and the United Ways that support the council.
· Possession of a valid driver’s license that meets the council insurance company’s requirement for coverage.
· Other demands deemed necessary.
*Physical Requirements* · Walking, standing, bending stooping, reaching and moderate lifting (up to 30 pounds) · Must be able to sit at a work station and/or computer screen for up to two hours at a time.
· Occasional exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
*Employee Role in Fund Development and Membership* You are required to have an active role in the council's fund development and membership efforts, as set forth by the CEO.
In addition, as an employee, you are a representative of GSHG, and people form their impressions of the council, in part, based on their interaction with you.
Every personal contact is with a current or potential donor to, or member of, the council and, thus, these impressions can influence their actions.
Employees also can play a more active role in fund development and membership by being alert to opportunities to identify potential new donors and volunteers.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.
00 - $45,000.
