What You'll Do in This Position The Principal IT Technical and Business Analyst provides value-added services by streamlining business processes focusing on producing quality and timely IT products and services in accordance with SRNS IT processes and procedures.
These products include governance initiatives, procurement, project management, procedure maintenance, data calls/audits, contracts, budget formulation and execution, communications, continuous improvement, risk management, and the operational excellence program.
Primary responsibilities of this position include managing projects and composing strategic documents; learning business specific writings; meeting firm deadlines and milestones; learning SRNS and relevant division/department systems and requirements for accomplishing tasks; demonstrating superior verbal and written communication skills covering both technical and business topics; dictating technical documentation for specified assignments; compiling assorted IT reports and communicating with various levels of management throughout the Information Technology department; directing a successful team to complete assignments efficiently and effectively.
Major Responsibilities: •Provides leadership in the achievement of team objectives for day-to-day and long-term objectives for assigned work/teams.
Responsible for reporting progress and forecasting goal completion.
•Considering customer needs and other workload, selects appropriate tools and leads the creation of schedules to meet objectives; as required by changes in workloads or to meet newly identified goals, adjusts schedules and obtains management concurrence.
•Plans efforts and provides guidance and direction to personnel on collecting and analyzing data and producing variety of IT products and publications.
Responsible for subject matter and editorial reviews and coordinates management reviews.
Provides critical reviews, checking and verifying content, condensing or adding topics and rearranging material for more effective presentation.
Provides executive summaries; communicates report contents through presentations as needed.
Obtain reviews for external release.
Participates in the development and implementation of Departmental policies and procedures.
•Advises on reporting methods and evaluates results of ad hoc reports generated by work group.
Translates management needs for data into reports and develops documentation/trains others in generating reports.
Identifies trends and swiftly escalates to management attention.
•Routinely operates effectively under tight deadlines and communicates work priorities/urgency to team members.
Defines specific problems and interfaces with management, stakeholders, and DOE to ensure emergent and identified needs are met.
•Critically examines IT processes, devising and implementing improvements to achieve efficiencies.
Substantiates, measures, and reports savings and cost avoidances.
Performs research on alternate methods throughout the company or industry and recommends appropriate path forward.
Plans and oversees surveillances, monitoring, assessments, and reviews of quality-related activities.
•Works independently leveraging technical aptitude to achieve individual and team goals.
Provides guidance and monitors teamwork to ensure compliance with approved schedules, cost, and staffing estimates.
•Primarily responsible for work that has Department or Sitewide impact and involves coordination with internal and external constituencies.
Displays excellent written communication skills including the ability to compose effective communications to audiences withing and outside IT.
Displays broad understanding of IT mission, strategy, operations, and interrelationships.
Resolves non-routine problems and develops communications that require interpretation of best practices and current climate for determining solution.
Serves as an alternate contact for the group for management and external contacts.
•Applies advanced knowledge of program; manages projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision.
Defines a problem, analyzes causes, selects the best solution, and develops action plan.
Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
Coaches and reviews the work of less experienced professionals.
Assists others in the interpretation of DOE Orders, laws, and regulations.
•Responsible for monitoring workgroup administrative tasks, reviewing for timeliness and completion.
Promotes cooperation and offers constructive criticism and feedback in a positive fashion.
Acts as resource within workgroup on all aspects of administrative tasks from a technical perspective.
Evaluates the way things are done; generates new ideas and seeks to improve the status quo.
•Shift schedule is determined by job assignment and may include off hours schedule.
Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications.
Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.
S.
citizenship.
