We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse who is passionate about the care of elderly patients in long-term medical care.
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of the facilities' activities and processes based on a close partnership with the hospital staff.
The Licensed Practical Nurse will interact directly with patients and families in order to assess their physical and mental health status and to encourage their personal well-being.
Responsibilities:
* Provide nursing care in a variety of settings such as long-term care facilities, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and ambulatory care centers.
* Provide direct health care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or a physician.
* Prepare equipment and administer medications according to the physician's orders.
* Position patient for treatment and assist with special procedures, dressing changes, or bathing patients.
* Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and treatments under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
* Obtain medical histories and measure vital signs; such as blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, oxygen level, abdominal size and skin color; under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
* Assist with preparing patients for diagnostic tests such as x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs; administer contrast solutions; take and record patient's vital signs; and position immobilized patients according to physician's orders.
* Assist with administering medications in accordance with physicians' orders; administer injections in accordance with physicians' orders; monitor patient response.
