RESPONSIBILITIES The RN is responsible for assisting the physician.
Provide direct and in-direct supervision of the nursing aspect of care to ensure adequate coverage and quality of patient care services.
Work cooperatively and effectively with the DQACO, CMO Chief Medical Officer and Lead Medical Assistant on clinical aspects of care.
Reports to the DQACO and the CMO and/or the CEO as requested.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Job–specific Major Areas of Responsibility Provides health counseling, health education, and liaison with patients/clients, providers, families and other health and social services professionals in the health care system Provides general supervision and interpretation of clinical policies and procedures regarding nursing and medical assistant policies and procedures.
Designs and implements tools for assuring and measuring patient processes and nursing service.
Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement with follow-up on areas requiring corrective action.
Maintains and recommends updates to clinical indicators and clinical procedure manuals.
Consults with the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO and CMO concerning clinical issues and problems.
Consults with the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO concerning staffing schedules to provide efficient and cost effective patient care coverage.
Develops, implements and monitors, in cooperation with the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO and the Lead Medical Assistant, an effective new patient care employee orientation and training process.
Provides input into the recruitment and hiring process for patient care personnel.
Assists with completing performance reviews for all supervised personnel.
Assists the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO and CMO to ensure patient care standards are met and in compliance with grant process, quality improvement, legal aspects and other regulatory requirements.
Attends required corporate meetings and participates in committees as requested by the company.
Provides in-service education on selected topics as directed.
Attends clinic staff meetings and responds to written and/or verbal questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Completes on a daily basis a log of activities and submits a copy of such log to the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO on a quarterly basis.
Responsible for completion of special assignments as assigned by DIRECTOR OF QA&CO, or CMO.
If assigned, reviews clinical supply requisitions and makes cost-effective corrections.
Supports and promotes the goals of the Neighborhood Improvement Project, Inc.
Provides input to the clinical services budget process as requested.
Advises on purchasing and product information and supplies.
Acts as a reference source to clarify clinical measures and expectations per directions of the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO and CMO Attends meetings of the Board of Directors and/or Board Committees as requested.
Assist and verifies at least annually nursing and medical assistant staff competencies.
Assists with reports as requested.
Assists with accreditation processes as requested.
Monitors/audits nursing responsibilities including medical records documentation, referral logs, emergency equipment, quality control of instruments, triage process, standing orders, and patient education.
Schedules and coordinates at least quarterly nurse/medical assistant team meetings to address current issues.
Participates in Administrative Staff meetings as requested.
Works with other managers to provide support and positive outcomes as well as conflict resolution.
Makes recommendations to patient care problems and complaints through incident reporting.
Participates in professional development activities as needed to keep updated on medical/clinical expertise.
Coordinates and provides leadership for Case Management activities.
Provides Case Management services as directed.
Assures appropriate management of vaccines, training on GRITS and submission of required reports.
Maintains provider profile agreements.
Coordinates the provision of educational in-services to clinical staff on new immunization, VFC and GRITS updates.
In the absences of the DIRECTOR OF QA&CO, RN may assume DIRECTOR OF QA&CO roles and responsibilities until such time as DIRECTOR OF QA&CO returns to duty or a replacement is established.
Other duties as assigned.
III.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduate of a program for Nursing with a minimum of ASN, BSN preferred.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Georgia A minimum of two years’ experience in leadership of clinical services provision and continuous quality improvement.
EXPERIENCE: At least two years functioning in leadership of clinical services provision and a continuous quality improvement role is preferred.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to perform the duties of the position with reasonable accommodation.
IV.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Outpatient practice setting with adequate lighting, dust, and climate control.
Frequently exposed to communicable/infectious disease and blood/body fluids and sharps.
Rarely exposed to therapeutic amount of radiation.
Frequent exposure to moderate level of noise from phones, machinery, patients, visitors, and other personnel.
May involve extended hours.
The Registered Nurse is regularly required to walk, talk and hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
