An original paint 1924 Indian bicycle.
The tank is a high quality steel reproduction I had made for this bike.
Everything else except the tires, grips, and fender ornament are original or period pieces.
The tires are solid rubber display only.
Klaxon horn, tire pump, and light all dress up this bike to make it the cat's meow for a young lad in 1924.
These bikes were made by Westfield Mfr under contract to Hendee (Indian).
The thinking was that if dad bought and Indian they could sell teh son a bicycle and when it was time for him to get a motorcycle he naturally buy an Indian.
The same sales tactics were used by Harley Davidson and Schwinn who manufactured Henderson and Excelsior motorcycles.
A great display piece for the mancave or could easily be made roadworthy with a modified modern wheelset.
If the ad is up its still available.
Thanks
